Dins Ti... sold

Post by Din »

Right, its going, i do love the car to bits but it must go :bye:
I shall do the official bit first,

Make/model: Rover 620 Ti.
Age/reg: 1995 M.
Colour: Caribbean Blue.
Miles: 99,000.
Service history: Some history and a fair few reciepts.
MOT until: Expired 11/01/09.... :crash:
Tax until: End of Feb.
Number of previous owners: 5 rings a bell, will check and amend.
Air con? No.
Modifications: Vittie wheels, Gbe evo2 boost controller, boost gauge, forge bolt on dump valve, cat back longlife stainless exhaust, lowerd approx 35mm.

Any more information: Well i have owned the car for 1 year and have done the following...
3x headgaskets (oil leak) (never cured) but runs well, on the last change i put a fully rebuilt head on it with new stem seals etc, rebuilt the gearbox with 6208 steel caged diff bearings and steel caged input shaft bearing (the rest are still the oe bearings), new Luk clutch kit, 2x new outer cv joints and boots, new slave cylinder seal kit, oil change, plugs, rotor arm, dizzy cap, plug leads, 4x tyres 2x falkens and 2x diamond back ebay speacials (all approx 6mm tread)....think thats about it :?

Bad Points: Of course there are a few, the biggest problem is i think the turbo is on its way out, it boosts fine but is noisy and i am getting a fine oil mist from the dump valve, the exhaust manifold is blowing (cr*p ebay gasket) and the diff seals are leaking.

Also the bodywork is getting tatty, small amount of rust on the nearside rear wheelarch (at the bottom) scratches on the offside rear wheel arch, large dent in the nearside front wing thats been pulled out but still visable and a scuff on the rear bumper.

I know i make it sound really bad but i dont want anyone turning up and getting a nasty surprise... it still turns heads when polished up and goes like nothing i have ever owned.

A few pics....

I know these are going for silly cheap atm  but i have put an awfull lot of time and money in to this car, but what with baby no2 due in less that 2 weeks i just dont have the time anymore, all it needs is a little tlc and it will make someone a good car.

So im asking £500.00 ovno.

Good luck with the sale fella, hope it goes to someone who won't rip it to bits.
Still looking nice. :) Would have it back in heartbeat if it weren't for my back and the support on the standard seats not suiting my problem :)

Still looking nice. Just for yr ref it is UME Caribbean Blue :)
Ta Alex (amended colour) it would be nice for it to stay on the forum, its been here quite some time from you to Pasty and then me.
It would be a shame if someone breaks it (its to good for that imho) but if thats what someone wants to do then thats the way it shall be....

I turned down a cash offer of £725. for my 45 during the christmas to new year period as i needed a car to commute to family and friends etc. Im feeling pretty sick now, your Ti would have been perfect for me.

Ok, just realised the MOT expired yesterday :crash: , tbh i dont know what to do now :(

If someone offers me a half sensible offer with no MOT then i shall proberbly just take it.......ive just lost enthusiasm, the only things i can think of that need doing for the MOT is the handbrake will need adjusting, oh and the center exhaust is held up with cable ties as i broke the mounts when i took the gearbox out last time, (although it should not fail on that).

The emisions are good ( i checked acouple of months ago) and all the lights and seat belts are fine, also its not rotten and all the tyres are very good.

As i said, the main issue is that its using oil as i think the turbo is on its way out.

Come on fellas, give me an offer and save my Ti :(

Will do mate, just wait and see that everything goes smoothly first

In a sense yes, i still have the 416 (which isnt going anywhere soon) as its been a fantasticly reliable car :D

The 416 is Lisas car now though, i am taking over my brothers old Golf Vr6 :)

Nice one on the Zr Mark, if its anything like my K powerd car it will be a great motor, simply lift the bonnet every few weeks and keep an eye on the levels and they really are fairly trouble free imho :D

Well, its gone, after a year of me absolutely loving this car, its gone

Sold to Hayabusa, (Mike) only 2 posts on the forum but has been about since april last year, he is not braking it (thank fook) but i hope he sorts the niggles and makes it a nicer car :)

I feel incredably sick and depressed with the amount of time and money that ive spent on this car (and for the little money it went for) but hey, onwards and backwards ay, just got to sort a few things on the golf and that will be my daily hack :| :)
