Have washed my car a couple of times and when i come to chamoising it it just slides the water around the surface and it took me ages to dry the car. its weird its like polishing a mirror with lard???
The only thing i have put on the car is some cheap carnauba liquid wax might that be to blame? (i bought some more expensive carnauba wax polish off ebay and never had any troubel with that.
Get yourself one of those massive towels as mentioned above and you will be around the car in no time. I find a quick blast down the lane helps remove and lying water.
Quick blast down the lane, lol. You might as well take a through a car wash.
How hard is the chamois? You know your supposed to treat it with soap before after use to keep it supple?
I normally place it in the clean car shampoo bucket before I start washing, so it is nice and supple when I come to use it.

I don't think a chamois is the best thing to use. Get a Sonus der wunder drying towel, or two, and some Meguiars Last Touch (dilute it 50/50 with water). Spray the last touch onto the wet car, just a light mist, and wipe/dry as you go, turning the towel regularly to a dry side.
The last touch lifts the water off the surface to aid drying and water uptake by the towel (somehow!, but it works) and adds gloss as well.
how you doing mate i used to have a valeting business and we used to use a small wiper blade to get rid of excess water first then used a leather for the small bits left or a paper hand roll takes 2 mins
A few months back I invested in a wash mit and a drying towel. Both are atleast 10 times better than their equivilents (sponge and chamois). The mit is far far easier to keep hold of, to get in every place etc. The towel is soft, very absorbent and doesn't feel like you're drying your car with a wet shoe.
I also highly recommend microfibre cloths for polishing, I always used to use rags and got loads of dust. Microfibre cloths just absorb it all and make it so much less hassle.
Always worth spending out a little on the right equipment to make a better/easier job.
