Benefit Britain Tonight

Post by Marty »

Is what they showed on there some sort of sick joke.

Those imagrants who are receiving British handouts in benefits and then complain they not getting enough they have rent paid for and £200 a week what more do they bloody want they have put sod all in so should get sod all out.

The fact they are openly bragging and our tax money is renevating there house back home is a joke.

How can the tax payers of this country just sit back and let this happen, helping our own is one thing but but Imigrants is a joke also the fact it shows them getting benefits and also working good job it's not someone who is actually born here doing that an absolute joke I wanted to attack the TV it made me that angry

Isn't this set to change? I thought there were new rules being implemented at some point to stop this.. Or was that just a dream I had?

Tbh, It frustrates and angers the hell out of me. :x

On a better note - fuel prices are down to a uk average 1.19p per litre! Soon to fall to £1!!

I had to turn it off..... Their not ment to be able to clame for their kids if their still living in their country, but that doesnt stop them.

I was watching oxford street today and they were going after pick pockets, they got two women working together and they were in our country on a 6 month tourist visa. They got caught twice in one week and got a 12 week suspended sentence. Personally i would of deported their a$$e$ back to their country.......

Am going through a difficult patch at the moment and am on the sick and have lost my job but i managed to put some money to one side in hind sight. But the amount of hoops ive had to jump through to get anything is a joke and i still get refused on certain benefits am just glad i managed to plan ahead.

Whilst I agree with the above comments I do think there is far too much hatred pushed towards people on benefits I agree there's savings to be made and people taking the mickey etc etc however look at the total expenditure on benefits in comparison to tax avoidance or even as a percentage of the government's total spending and really it's a drop in the Ocean just an easy target to get people on your side and blind us to the real issues and ultimately win votes which ultimately is the aim of the game

Its programmes like this that make me wanna throw my tv out the window I had to turn it off. I have to agree with the previous comment bout tax avoidance though, the amount of money owed through that far outweighs benefit cheats. However the blatant tripe n onions raking of our generosity is sickening.

If they all left tomorrow our gdp would take a huge hit. They do jobs we as english people don't want to do.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-25134521

Can EU migrants easily claim benefits when they arrive in another EU country?
No - there are conditions, depending on an individual's circumstances.

They can stay for three months, but to stay longer after that they have to be: in work; or actively seeking work with a genuine chance of being hired; or be able to show they have enough money not to be a burden on public services. Apart from that, evidence of benefit abuse or fraud is grounds to exclude or expel a person.

Also the government have been claiming the immigrants are here purely for the benefits as they are so good. Claiming there is a Benefit tourism culture. They have been to the EU and declared this. When asked for proof our beloved government we silenced though as there is none.

From the same BBC page:

Is the UK benefits system more generous than those in other EU countries?
The systems are very diverse, so comparisons are difficult.

In terms of total spending on social security per inhabitant, the UK does not rank highest. In the UK the figure for 2010 was nearly 8,000 euros (£6,660; $10,880), the EU statistics agency Eurostat reports. In France and Germany it was nearly 9,000 euros, while in Denmark and the Netherlands it was above 10,000. At the other end of the scale, spending in Bulgaria and Romania was below 2,000 euros.

So the problem isn't as bad as the government have made out. This program you were watching was probably as factual as benefit street which was know to be a load of bs that inflamed similar feelings.

What I cant understand about the government is.
When they build new hospitals/schools etc etc,
Why do they borrow private sector money to do it?
Hospital beds cost £18k, imagine the interest payments.

I think it is a literal case of needing to. The population is growing fast! What concerns me more are multi billion pound projects being spent on roads, and trident, there is a massive waste of money.

Also the recent scandal of RBS being found guilty of fixing currency rates, that is the biggest crime of the last few years easily equal to the libor rate lies, and as disgusting is that no trader can go to prison for such crimes.

You see there are so many other things to be properly angry about, rather than taking it out on people who come from countries so poor they would rather try and find better opportunities in this country in these times? Good luck to them I say.

PFI? Simple. It's like a credit card but your successor has to pay the bill. Who cares if the payback ratio is 10:1 if you get the Kudos now but not the bill.

Last I heard, measure were supposedly being introduced that stopped migrants claiming any benefits until they have contributed a certain amount in national insurance. This is a good idea and AFAIK in line with other EU countries. Many female EU migrants know just how to play the system. Think about the type of person who is likely to leave their home, family, friends - everything they know, to go an live in a foreign country. Some will the desperate, hard-working type. Others will be the motivated, ambitious type - those unsatisfied with average earnings in their native country. Those types are more likely to be shameless, unscrupulous and greedy when it comes to acquiring money.

Regarding petrol prices, I doubt we'll see them at £1/litre at current tax rates. The price of crude oil has dropped around 50% since the summer (it's trading at $58/bbl today), yet petrol over the same period has fallen only 10p (less than 10%), due to the majority of it being tax, which has not changed. Just a guestimate, but £1 a litre would probably require oil to be at around $20/bbl, which is, IIRC, well below average extraction/transportation cost.

Tax avoidance!! Jesus that should be the last of people's worry. End of the day, people do fiddle there tax returns and I for one am all for it.
Self employed people still earn there own money. Most benefit people have never earnt a penny and yet, they get a percentage of what we earn in effect. In moral, the less you pay in, the less you get stung, not just in paying tax but giving it to people who do not deserve it.
During the duration of watching this programme I kept repeating the same question which was 'how do they claim what they do'?
how are they entitled to the amount they get? In some cases as it's well over min wage and they do nish to get it!.
